The building of Konys Sports Palace was built in 1976 and was intended for holding competitions in various sports, but its main highlight was the ice rink, where hockey matches and figure skating competitions were held. But during perestroika the Palace of Sports was closed, and when it was re-opened in 1995, it was reorganized. Today Konys is a place for mini-football, boxing, volleyball, as well as a center for cultural and leisure activities: concerts, training, exhibitions, and conferences.
