THE CONCERT IS HELD IN KAZAKH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

As part of the International Festival “Operalia”, the renowned Kazakhstani violinist and winner of international competitions, residing in Belgium, Meruert Karmenova, will perform in the Chamber Hall of the Astana Opera House.

Having started her musical journey in Kazakhstan at the age of five, Meruert Karmenova has made a successful career. She graduated from the Gnessin Special School of Music and later from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. She has conquered the summits of many prestigious international competitions, including the David Oistrakh Violin Competition in Moscow (2007, 2013), the Astana Violin Competition (2008) and the 6th International Ludwig van Beethoven Violin Competition in St. Pölten, Austria (2010). In 2022, Meruert received the Second Prize and the Special Prize for the best performance of a work by Karol Szymanowski at one of the prestigious music competitions, the 26th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznań.

Since 2018, the violinist has been an artist-in-residence of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium under the direction of Augustin Dumay.
