For the first time in Almaty the audience will hear the ensemble of ancient music ARS ANTIQUA AUSTRIA, which has successfully performed in the best concert halls of Europe, USA and Japan. The founder of the ensemble Gunnar LETZBOR (Austria) - violin and Sergey Cherepanov (Germany) - organ, will present to the audience the sonic diversity of early music by recreating the specific Austrian baroque string sound. Early Music Ensemble

Gunnar LETZBOR (Austria) - violin

He studied composition, conducting and violin in Linz, Salzburg and Cologne. His acquaintance with Nikolaus Arnoncourt and Reinhard Göbel led him to pursue the interpretation and performance practice of early music. He has performed in the ensembles Musica Antiqua Köln, Slämäncis Consort (Vienna), La Folia (Salzburg), Armoniso Tributo (Basel), Wiener Akademie (Vienna) and others, in many of which he was concertmaster. On numerous tours of Europe, the USA and Japan, Letzbor has performed and continues to perform with great success as a soloist in concertos for violin and orchestra and also in recitals.

He founded the ensemble Ars Antiqua Austria. Winner of the Cannes Classica Aword prize. G. Letzbor is a teacher of baroque violin at the conservatories of Lübeck and Vienna. In 2009 Gunnar Letzbor founded and directed the G. I. F. Biber International Competition for Young Performers of Baroque Music in the monastery of St Florian (Austria), which has become one of the most popular competitions of early music, bringing together every two years about 100 young soloists and chamber ensembles from all over the world

Sergei CHEREPANOV (Germany) - organ

Organist, pianist and harpsichordist living in northern Germany. He combines his extensive concert and teaching activities with his work in an evangelical church and directing the summer festival and organ course in Bosau (Schleswig-Holstein). Sergei is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatoire. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatoire in piano (teachers Y. Slesarev and V. Merzhanov) and organ (B. Romanov and N. Gureeva). After completing postgraduate studies he continued to improve his skills in the organ classes of Martin Haselböck in Lübeck and Vienna and Wolfgang Zehrer in Hamburg. Since 2002 he has taught organ interpretation and authentic performance at the Lübeck School of Music and regularly participates in international organ and early music festivals, for example in Berlin, Hanover, Osnabrück, Brussels, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Salzburg, Vienna, Basel, Milan and Tallinn. In 2020 he was awarded the prize for the development of musical culture in the region of Ost-Holstein, Germany.
