BREATH OF MOTHER EARTH: MUSIC OF THE GREAT SILK ROAD

A long-awaited solo concert by Kazakhstan’s leading opera singer, the recipient of the “Kurmet” Order, Zarina Altynbayeva, will be held at the Abay Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre. The concert will feature the theatre’s symphony orchestra and choir, conducted by Kanat Omarov. The piano part will be performed by Aliyar Otetleu.

• The heritage of the Great Silk Road from the fiery melodies of Azerbaijan and the vastness of the Kyrgyz steppe to the refined lyrics of Iranian, Tatar, Uzbek, and Uyghur musical cultures.
