The State Trio of the Republic of Kazakhstan FORTE-TRIO of the State Concert Organization “Qazaqconcert” of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan dedicates its performance to the 215th anniversary of the German romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn.

The programme for the evening will feature two of Mendelssohn’s piano trios. Piano Trio No. 1 is one of his most celebrated works. Robert Schumann, who reviewed the piece, declared Mendelssohn to be the “Mozart of the 19th century, the most brilliant musician who understands the contradictions of the era and is the first to reconcile them.”

Equally compelling is Piano Trio No. 2, which showcases all the hallmarks of Mendelssohn’s style. The first movement is filled with drama, the second movement is deeply lyrical, and the finale concludes with a grand rendering of a Christmas chorale.
