Lecture and QA with photographer Yuri Korotetsky

ArtLab Offstage is a series of lectures and Q&As with theatre professionals. As part of the ArtLab Offstage project, we want to provide a platform for representatives of those professions without whom the theatre ecosystem could not exist. Our goal is to explain how theatre works from the inside, to inspire young professionals from different fields to get involved in the arts and to show that behind every performance there is a huge team of professionals.

On 23 February at 14:00 there will be a lecture and Q&A with photographer Yuri Korotetsky.

Yuri Korotetsky is an ex-journalist who changed from pen to camera. As a versatile photo reporter he co-operated with UEFA and FIBA, covering sports, cultural and socio-political events in different countries.

After becoming interested in theatre photography, Yuri started working at the Lyubimovka festival of contemporary drama in Russia

«Lyubimovka» festival in Russia. After moving to Almaty, he became one of the leading theatre photographers in the city, capturing many plays, performances and festivals.

His portfolio includes projects ranging from the Almaty Marathon and MMA fights to contemporary drama and plastic performances.
