Lecture «Behind the Scenes of the Nutcracker»

Aspect Educational Project is pleased to invite you again to a lecture about the magical world of the Nutcracker. You will be taken on a journey through time and together we will see and hear things that have never been told to you before.

First we will travel to 19th century Christmas Germany and experience Hoffmann's mystical fairy tale. We will read between the lines, inhale the aroma of the Christmas tree and feel the sweetness of almonds.

And then a new journey awaits us! The story of the Nutcracker inspired Tchaikovsky to create music that has been mesmerising hearts for over 100 years. We will be transported back to the composer's time to find out how the masterpiece was born and why critics were categorical in their assessment.

Afterwards, we will look behind the scenes of the theatre to understand what makes The Nutcracker not just a ballet, but a true symbol of Christmas.

Our guide to the world of the Nutcracker will be Zhanna Piskunova, a professional lecturer and enthusiastic researcher, whose passion for the world of art and deep independent knowledge allow her to tell us about the Nutcracker in a way that will be interesting to both beginners and experienced amateurs. Her lectures are not only facts, but also a sincere dialogue with the audience, filled with interesting stories, unexpected discoveries and subtle observations.
