From 23 January to 8 March, the Lumiere-Hall multimedia museum invites you to a unique exhibition where Pop Art classics meet contemporary masters. The exhibition features more than 80 works of art collected from private collections and galleries in Europe and the United States, covering the work of 20 artists whose works illustrate the Pop Art phenomenon. The exhibition is divided into three key blocks that reveal the development and evolution of this artistic movement:

Classic Pop Art

The first section of the exposition is dedicated to the works of the «golden era» of Pop Art - the artists who laid the foundations of this trend. You will see works by such icons as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. These masters took images from popular culture - from comic books to advertising to celebrities - and turned them into symbols of artistic expression.

Contemporary followers of the Pop Art tradition

The second part of the exhibition brings together contemporary artists whose work reinterprets the ideas of Pop Art. Included are works by artists such as Prefab 77, Banksy and Richard Ryan. Their work demonstrates how pop art continues to be a source of inspiration, echoing street art, digital technology and new forms of self-expression.

A Contemporary Reading of Pop Art in Kazakhstan

The third block of the exhibition presents a unique interpretation of pop art by Kazakh artist Mimi Ilnitskaya. In her works, she refers to national symbols, organically combining them with pop art aesthetics.

Lumire-Hall is an exhibition space and a cultural and educational centre for new media. The museum's permanent venue is located in Almaty.
