The Ghost of Canterville Castle (KATMK)
Description
The action takes place in Canterville Castle. The American Otis family, which consists of the ambassador, his wife, his eldest son, and little Virginia, decides to buy this castle, despite the fact that it is haunted by the ghost of Canterville, who killed his wife.
The family does buy this castle though. The endurance of the Americans and their materiality is shown. They banter with the ghost, unafraid of his terrifying plans.
But the ghost himself, Sir John, is outraged. He doesn't understand how his attempts to frighten the family can be treated in this way. The children are constantly taunting him, putting him to the test. Only little Virginia sympathises with Sir Jones's unsettled soul. She helps him to get rid of the sin on his soul. Her purity and kind heart were able to defeat Death and exalt Love.
