On May 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in the concert hall of the Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic, the Saryarka Folk Music Ensemble will present a concert titled «That Bygone Time», dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Shamshi Kaldayakov.
This event, commemorating the 95th anniversary of a beloved national composer and a classic of Kazakh musical culture, will be a vibrant expression of nostalgia and respect for his work - a revival of the golden era of Kazakh pop music. Shamshi’s songs, filled with heartfelt melodies and sincere emotion, continue to resonate deeply with audiences and are rightfully regarded as a spiritual treasure of the nation.
As part of the concert, the composer’s timeless works will be reimagined through modern arrangements and performed by contemporary artists. The Saryarka Ensemble will bring each song to life with a national flair, creating a unique atmosphere, while the modern ballet troupe Älem will enhance the stage with expressive choreography.
Celebrated performers from across the country will take the stage, including Nurai Tanabayev, Araylim Rakhim, Svetlana Aytbayeva, Akimkhan Mazhenov, Shahrizada Tynyshtyk, Mayra Ilyassova, and many others. With heartfelt sincerity, each artist will interpret Shamshi’s songs, offering the audience moments of nostalgia, joy, inspiration, and genuine emotion.
The concert will open with a medley of Shamshi’s songs, featuring both joyful, energetic pieces such as «Än Ağa», «Otyrardagy Toy», and «Teriskei», as well as tender lyrical compositions like «Qaiyqta», «Saǵynyshym Menıń», and «Ana Turaly Zhyr».
A special moment will be the performance of «Sen Sulu» by Berik Omarov, Darina Qudaibergen, and Ershat Qaiyrkhan, featuring a unique duet of dombra and guitar. In the traditional genre, Körkem Sholoshova will masterfully present the evocative «Qusni-Qorlan».
The concert program encompasses a wide emotional and thematic spectrum. Audiences will enjoy not only the opening medley but also songs such as «Än Ağa», «Otyrardagy Toy», «Teriskei», «Qaiyqta», «Saǵynyshym Menıń», «Ana Turaly Zhyr,» «Aq Mańdaílym», «Báqyt Qushaǵynda», as well as iconic works like «Qusni-Qorlan», «Tuńgi Otar», «Arqalyqtyń Aq Tańy», «Arıs Zhaǵasynda», «Duńgen Qyzy», «Sen Sulu», «Taldyqorǵan», «Qushaq Zhaıǵan», «Aq Erke Aqzhaıyq», «Shámshıge Arnaý», «Studentter Ánı» and the inspiring anthem «Menıń Qazaqstanym».
